Day 18 – Keep Circling
Boaz Ministries
“On the seventh day, march around the city seven times.” Joshua 6:4
I’m a witness that the Lord will answer prayers in ways I least expected. He’s outside the finite, boney box many of us have designed for Him. He continually opens my mind to His possibilities! This is why the story of Joshua and the battle at Jericho is so special. How in the world could a city, protected by insurmountable walls be overtaken by a group of people simply walking in sandals around it every day for six days? And what was so deep about walking around seven times on the seventh day? But that is the point. It seemed silly and made no “common sense”. And the records show that the walls did fall, and victory belonged to the people of God. There are times when God shows up AND shows off!
Batterson writes, “I believe there is a God in heaven who directs our steps, who prepares good works in advance, who causes all things to work together for good, who fights our battles for us! And if you pray through, there will be a breakthrough.” If Joshua had given up and stopped the people from circling the city on day six, the miracle would have been forfeited right before it happened.
In the midst of whatever we are facing and petitioning before the Lord – keep asking, seeking, and knocking. We’ve got to “praise God if the answer is yes and trust Him if the answer is no. If the answer is not yet…keep circling!”
