Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the
wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20
Lord, help my wife (husband) and me to always "pursue the things which
make for peace: and the things by which we may edify one another (Romans
14:19). Enable us to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit -- "love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control" -- and not a harvest of the flesh (Galatians 5:22-23).
Take all anger from us and teach us to love each other from pure hearts
and a good conscience (1 Timothy 1:5-6). We know that it is You who
"looks deep inside people and searches through their thoughts" (Proverbs
20:27). Search the inner depths of our hearts and expose anything
that is not of You so we can be free of it. Amen.
