Feeling Some Type of Way

Rest in peace,  dear Lamont, Daddy
uncle Vern, and several of my close friends
Robbed of life, the innocent by-standers,
plane crash victims...seems the horror never ends

The Word says not to fret over evil-doers
and their temporary power
So I kneel till I can stand on God's promises
and sing, "I need Thee every hour"

Not usually one to complain because I know
Who is my Defender and Shield
Just weary of all the noise, insidious distractions
and this world's deadly sin appeal...

Another Year...Wiser

Just want to take a moment and give a shout out to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost for their concerted work of tough, abiding love and patience with me throughout my life!

Today is my birthday, and as I reflect on the events of years past up to this day - especially as they relate to my spiritual growth and understanding, I am in awe of the many, mini-miracles of transformation God has wrought in the people around me, which, in turned, blessed me in ways too numerous to mention! These individuals were intentionally placed in my path, for a purpose. What I have witnessed are subtle changes, sometimes happening over a short period of time, that took me by surprise. And that's HUGE!  I call these "mini-miracles" only because most think of miracles as something tangible and obvious. But I have learned that prayer, fasting, and interceding on the behalf of others, will bring about results that will not only blow your mind - but let you know it was ONLY by God's power.  I've learned the greatest of miracles is the transformation of the heart.

Through the ministry I share with my husband, and seeking to know God's will for my life daily, I've learned the only way to be an agent of change, is to allow God to do the changing. I will continue to focus on prayer and supplication for myself and others, and be an encourager of all who would know the Lord.

I am grateful, today, for the loving family and friends who have traveled this journey with me thus far. Looking forward to the Day of Christ's return - and not about to waste a moment of this gift of life, in the meantime!

Hallelujah!

The Power of Prayer for CHANGE In Your Marriage - If Hardness of Heart Causes Love to Die

Boaz Ministries

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)

Lord, I pray that You would protect my marriage from any hard-heartedness that could develop between us. I pray our hearts will never grow hard toward one another. Take away any pride or bitterness in us so that we will not displease You. I ask that rivers of Your living water will flow in and through us at all times to soften, mend, and restore our hearts (John 7:37-38). Heal any brokenness so that the damage is not irreparable, and take away any scars that form. I ask that we will always feel love for one another in our hearts. Where our hearts have become hard, soften them toward one another. Amen.

The Power of Prayer for CHANGE In Your Marriage - If Children Start to Dominate Your Lives

Boaz Ministries

All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13

Lord, give me Your wisdom, revelation, and discernment. Give me Your strength, patience and love. Teach me how to truly intercede for my children without trying to impose my own will when I pray. Teach me how to pray so I can lay the burden of raising them at Your feet. Increase my faith to believe for all the things You put on my heart to pray about for them. Lord, I know I don't have the ability to be the perfect parent, but You do. I pray that You would protect and guide them. Help me not to live in fear about my children because of all the possible dangers, but to live in peace trusting that You are in control. Amen.

The Power of Prayer for CHANGE In Your Marriage - If Children Start to Dominate Your Lives

Boaz Ministries

May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children. Psalm 115:14

Lord, I pray for my husband(wife) to find the perfect balance between being overly focused on the children and the other extreme of not spending enough time with them. Let no issues of child rearing change his(her) heart toward me or undermine our relationship. Help him(her) to see the need for us to spend time together alone so that we can stay strong and connected as a married couple. Help my husband(wife) to obey You and do what is right in Your sight so that his(her) prayers will be answered - especially for our children. Give him(her) wisdom and revelation about all aspects of child rearing and help him(her) to be a great father(mother) to our children. Amen.

The Power of Prayer for CHANGE In Your Marriage - If Children Start to Dominate Your Lives

Boaz Ministries

The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him. Proverbs 20:7

Lord, help me to be balanced in my parenting. Help me not to be obsessive about my children, but rather to relinquish control over their lives to You. Help me to find the balance between focusing too much on my children and neglecting my husband(wife), and the other extreme of neglecting my children in any way. Help me to put You first and my husband(wife) second in my life, so that my focus on our children doesn't come between those two relationships. Wherever there are disagreements between me and my husband(wife) as to how to raise and discipline our children, help us to be able to communicate well with each other and resolve whatever conflict we have. Amen.

The Power of Prayer for CHANGE In Your Marriage - If Children Start to Dominate Your Lives

Boaz Ministries

He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you. Psalm 147:13

Lord, help us to learn how to pray for our marriage and our children so that we never leave any aspect of our lives or their lives to chance. Your Word says that "unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). So I invite You right now to build our house, our family, and our marriage. I pray that we will never be divided or torn apart. Give me and my husband(wife) great wisdom and revelation about how to raise our children. Help us to talk things through and be in complete unity, especially in the area of discipline and privileges. Show us what we need to see about ourselves and each child. Amen.
